A Brighter World

She awakens from her fright felt nightmare
Woken up by the shivering voices followed by a mystified breeze
The room is vacant and nothing is heard except for the sound of a pin drop
Suddenly a running faucet begins to take motionless action
Drip, drip, drip
As the water drips each surrounding window cracks open
The wind starts whistling an unpleasant tune
While the flapping of bats wings are heard in a bothersome rhythm
As the cold draft slowly takes over her body inch by inch
Starting from her toes all the way up to her cerebrum leaving her body immobile
Her fingers shrivel up and her teeth begin to chatter
She feels herself being drawn into a collaboration of spirits
She can’t quite make out where she’s being deported
It was her time to let go and follow the endless road to nowhere
Here she lies motionless as the timer stops ticking
And the flowers begin to fold while the sun’s warmth is no longer felt
Sunshine is turned into darkness as precious time fades away into the sunset
Empty tears are shed from friends and family for their loved one
Instead of suffering unbearable pain she was taken to a better place
With arms wide open she was welcomed into a brighter world
Which she can now call her home
