Stone on stone
Paper to burn
Smoke lit in the dark
Paint and prime
Read and rhyme
Stanza on the mark
The folds of night
The seams of light
The pinpricks in the dark
Hope and pray
Engravings rubbed away
Imperfections in a quark
Don’t try
Hopeless to wonder why
Don’t even think about it
again
Dreams crushed
Feelings rushed
From brain, to heart, to skin
Until a spark
Starts the wheels
And off we go again…
