certainty

not in silence do we feel alone
not for music do we dance
not on paper do we write our words
not strong is our fighting chance.
not tiredly we go to bed
not reluctantly we lay our head
not timely does each moment start
not divided are we when we part.
not evident is our smiling grief
not meaning numbers give
not fleetingly we raise our hands
not certainly shall we live.
