Just a game

How was I to know we were playing a game,
in the end I became the one to blame.
You severed the bond between us on your turn,
leaving me stranded and left to burn.

I have come to a place unknown to me,
there is nothing left here to see.
The place where I am is uninviting and cold,
obviously my heart was meant to be sold.

Being treated like this makes me feel scared,
and I actually thought for a while you cared.
I would forgive you if you asked,but won't forget,
I don't even want to remember how we met.

How can you say those things to me,
the truth never to see.
I want you to please go away,
and because of you I will never be okay.
