Rose represents love
But why the thorns of the lovely rose
Prick through my seemingly invincible iron shield
Through the broken hole
The twisted branches slowly crawled closer and closer to me
As its long arms wrapped its fingers around my ankles
Tripping, blinding, and dragging me down into an eternal darkness
Not before the soft mocking whisper of the leaves
Shattered my dignity, laughing at my humiliation
This at-one-time red beauty
Went into metamorphosis and changed into
A darkened rose
The minuscule bud that blossomed into the mere imitation
Of your black heart
