I love you, dear!
In a small town by the shore
Stands a girl and her lover
Everything they loved and worked for
 Washed away in the war

"It's ok, believe in your country.
They will avenge us so we can recover!
Believe in them and we will be free.
And then we can live, just you and me."

The girl looked up at him with a sad smile
"But the sadness the world has to uncover,
 the loss we've suffered Kyle!"
He grabbed her close and held her awhile.

They stood like that, their tears falling
True happiness they had yet to discover
But then they heard a voice calling
And what it said had stopped their bawling

"don't cry for me!" her father said
 "I'm still alive, just undercover!
I'll watch over you, and wait ahead
So stop this sorrow and your dread!"

"I love you, my dear! I'm in your heart!
Happiness and love you must rediscover!"
The death that tore the two apart
Had now given their life a new start
