Death
is such an ugly word.
It sneaks into chest cavities
and steals the breath right from your lungs.
It’s a monster
clawing from inside
begging for purchase,
tearing through arteries.
It leaves you broken
shaking
in a ball on the floor
Until you’re struggling to breathe.
and begging to sink into the ground.
Don’t leave me alone,
I’m no good with goodbyes.
