Blood Shed Mascara
Some things are better left unknown.
Going into the dark with questions, too many to be answered.
Never knowing could be better than pain.
Hurting on the inside.
Smiling on the out.
She can't let it show.
Looking for a way to end it.
There it is.
Sharp and clean.
One quick swipe and everything's gone.
She picks it up.
Holds it tight.
Looks up and sees her reflection.
Mascara streaming down her face.
Then he comes into her thoughts.
His smile, his voice, his hugs.
She puts it down.
Wipes the smeared black from her eyes.
Goes out into the world with hope.
Some things are better left unknown.
