Paris vs Suburbia

July 28, 2008
By Anonymous

I am tired of do-nothing days
wasted in midmorning humidity and jet lines across foggy blue
I want rain in shadows of street lamps and the musky mold of subways and
flower markets beneath stale pigeon colonies
I want the beauty of the polluted city in every
gumstrewn gasolineslick potholed street and I want
freedom and I want myself in
the joyful haze of champagne lifted
up
by sweaty limbs that chant La Marseilles from smoky lungs and I
am going to suffocate
beneath these green lifeless leaves

Silvia, I am your biggest fan ever, and this is, like, your best poem I've ever read.
