Gratitude
Blood drips like rain & I dream of the day you’re coming back again
arrive your deprived of what you once had
all for this one bust
the innocent taken for enemies
we’re all just trying to protect the people important to me
perfect friends and family
green, grays, & tans to represent the red, white, & blue
you don’t know this but i do it all for you
wars the chore i’ve been assigned
now it’s time to step up-claim my pride
you may not understand why i choose to protect my fellow man
but for better or worse that signature became my curse
I chose to write my name on that line, and for that i carry no shame
I do it for all our dreams, and i expect you to understand by no means
but the young grow old, and realize the truth being told
and when these men can’t do it anymore, other will work ‘till they’re sore
trying to fill that empty space with a new eager face
but still
their legacies will live on
even the death will be remembered
many have fallen but none will be forgotten
