Other World
Misty blackness hangs in haunting.
Mangled branches grin in taunting,
Daring me to look away,
To be the victim of its prey.
I left that path not long ago,
Where the sun always shines
And the wind never blows,
Where lilies blossom without perpetual fear,
In the world that I once held dear.
But the darkness looked so entrancing,
When I saw these witches dancing,
As visions ensnared my senses,
I stepped inside, not apprehensive.
Voices beckoned deep within.
I had to find these long lost kin.
Gliding in circles, tangled in dreams,
Brutal storms erased my path, it seems.
Looking back to the world I knew,
Malignant fingers obscured from view.
Sinking shadows seeping through,
Revealed the devil in my view.
