The Recruiter
She lives without others,
The ones like her gone,
Hiding from the sun,
She walks alone,
Hunting deep in the forest,
Trying to survive.
Peacefully living,
Sticking with the stars,
Clinging to the night.
She hears something rustling in the bushes,
She strikes,
Borrowing its liquid, its life force.
She walks this path,
Alone,
Awaiting her turn to change others.
When she sees her opportunity she delivers,
She stops suddenly
To regret her actions and then waits until it’s time again.
