Favorite Quote:
When life gives you lemons, paint them gold.

The light disappears, the smile fades away
The stain on her shirt a reminder of today
The tears on her cheeks, the hole in her heart
The heat by her side, the blood red tide
The posters pinned up, her face on the page
The words underneath, she's been missing for days
And when they finally find her, after so long
She's just but a memory, a line from a sad song
But the saddest part, the story untold
She was killed by her friends, whom she knew not were her foes

The author's comments:
The poem is describing a dead girl's body, the "heat by her side" is a gun and the "posters pinned up" are her missing person's picture. What the poem shows is how friends do influence you, even if you don't realize it, for the better or for the worse. They might not kill you, but a bad habit is hard to break, and a bad friend is hard to shake. So choose your friends wisely.
