I know that life was hard today,
But don't let your troubles lead you astray.
As of this moment you've done your best,
So just go to sleep tonight and forget about the rest.
Disregard what's left you aghast,
And focus instead on the joys of your past.
Sit back and rest your weary heart,
So you can re-live your life from the very start.
You're the only one that knows your life story,
So close your eyes and rejoice in your glory.
Go ahead and reminisce
About vacations to Paris and your first real kiss...
Realize, though, my saddened friend,
That this is an obstacle -- not the end.

I wrote this poem as a cheer-up message for one of my friends, but I thought I'd share it with anyone on Teenink who feels downhearted.
