Lights
Just because something glitters doesn't always make it gold
Sometimes instead of rushing, see what the truth will hold.
Some days people will fail you, and others you fail them
But just because you may win, it doesn’t make you a prettier gem.
Every day we all shine, we all show who we are
In a way we all glow, but sometimes your light is far.
Everybody’s light is different, some are bright, and others dim,
Those who shine brighter sometimes push others to the rim.
If you look beyond the first sight, behind the big and bold,
You may see that the brightest, are in fact not shining gold.
The best of the people, the ones quiet and kind,
They’re the ones, who deserve the brighter lights,
If we’d only see behind the lies
