Annual Faith Rebirth
Seed.
My new life is ready to begin,
My new changes for the world begins.
But the tools I use for this change
Are not of the world’s exchange.
But more the wind and rain and night
And the earth and nutrients and light.

 Roots.
As I dig into the knowledge and truth
I ground myself firm in the curiosity of youth.
Born to satisfy my curiosity, searching for more
My faith is ready to become humble, surrender the burdens I previously bore.
A close foundation is necessary for bringing faith alive
And learning how to properly thrive.

 Sprout.
When I am exposed to my climate and new light surrounds me
I, again each summer, am finally in the air and free.
My fresh summer faith is gentle and frail
Many times caught is temptation’s jail.
I do not like being weak, snapping and breaking under an animal’s foot,
I want my faith to become stronger, to arise from ashes and soot.

 Fully Grown.
Sometimes I doubted and sometimes I wavered
But my true faith in God has never quavered.
With my firm support and strong trunk and receiving leaves
I, shade for others, am still small enough to hide under God’s protective eaves.
I cannot doubt God’s protection in the trials
But, in this New Year, I know my faith will guide me through the coming miles.
