Poor Heart...
beneath the blush of twilight’s tints
we held each other surely tight
amid the Heavens’ lovely prints
we watched the stars fade into night
among the chirping cricket's tune
we gazed until the dawn arose
until the earth was rimmed with blue
until the shriek of roosters’ crows
perfection crisp, desire deep
i thought for sure that this was love
see this blood? oh how it seeps
my heart upon your crimson glove
watch it crumble in your hand
like dust it drifts into the breeze
oh how my heart cannot withstand
your surely suffocating squeeze
you and i, we weren’t so bad
in fact i loved you more than life
but in return you stole my heart
pierced it, stabbed it with a knife
