A Family

Three
A number of unity
A tri-pod
It’s the start of a family
One falls, they all fall…
A woman, now a mother, and a man, now a father, observe
A Gift to the world -
A baby
A connection between the three

A sparkling shine in every pair of eyes
The shine in the eyes of the parents is a plan
Show love, raise the gift into a man
Guidance is in the parents’ eyes
The shine of the baby is a potent acknowledgment
Satisfaction is shown in the heart of the parents
The result is another…
Four

Satisfaction is still followed
As the screws on the youngest leg of the tri-pod loosen
Straying away, slowly
Repelling, rebelling
Awkward sadness in three pairs of eyes
As the two potent pairs drift even more
The young leg retracted and fell on the floor
One falls, they all fall…
Heads that were once connected now face
Opposite directions on the floor

A family
Connected for always -
Somehow, some way?
One
The number of loneliness
The potency still lives
And the shine in the parents’ eyes follows through
But the heart has no obligation to follow anymore
Even though the tri-pod is not together, it still has satisfaction -
It still is a family…
