Remake the Escape
Careful, the wind spoke, the shaking of the window.
The careful notes, the slippery hope.
Who will save us now?
And being afraid. Here's to everything
we chose to imply.
To feel, instead of being alive.
Silver skin and a heart of clay.
I'll bend and melt,
sweat and break.
And who cares if anyone looks
in on us?
When did savage hearts run tamed?
I belong only to the wind and to the hunt.
To the climb and
bankment of today.
The sweat of the sea should be my home,
not my haven! my heaven.
No escape is as careful
as the one we are about to make.
(I am sorry to the people I will break.)
Freedom, at what cost?
Farewell to who?
All I ever wanted was you.
Salt skin, who will save us now?
Who will watch me as a drown?
