"Everything human is pathetic. The secret source of humor itself is not joy but sorrow. There is no humor in heaven." - Mark Twain (Samuel Langhorne Clemens)

You can lay among the sands of life,
soaking up the sun.

But before the tide comes in my friend,
you're bound to meet someone.

You can stand atop a sailing boat,
or walk the water's tide,
but no matter how you try to run,
you know you must abide.

You'll take their hand and blindly jump, into the salty brines,
like a jacked up driver in a car, ignoring all the signs.

You may long to come back up for air, but with your love you'll stay.

You may have come to find that love is a saltwater bay
