Cage of mine.

July 26, 2008
By Marissa Buttitta, Bossier City, LA

Locked deep inside
i have this cage,
its bound and wound
in hurt and pain.
Emotion is its name.
Worn and torn.
the cages edge.
aware its setting on
the highest ledge.
full of the cold,hardened,warped
old.
The burning,fresh,flesh eating,
new.
Wires connected.
leading to my brain.
hardwired,the best.
Never to give me rest.
never to give me peace.
clawing to get out.
let the others run through my mouth.
Liquid running down my face,
out my eyes.
unable to prevent it.
Never to know what they meant.
They turn and twist.
To be forever bent.
