Thanksgiving Day
Some gather for a backyard football game,
Some don’t do anything.
Aunts and Uncles greet each other,
while parents and siblings hug one another.
Family members gather around the table,
driving into town if they are able.
The bell rings and we bow our heads to pray,
giving thanks for this very day.
There we sit at the table,
loading up our plates with what we are able.
