Parisite

As the land weeps
we close our hearts
and spill its blood
Cutting the land
and poisoning the veins
that run beneath it

even as she cradles us
from the pain of the cosmos
we poison her
introduce violence
murder her children
for profit and greed

the ones that see
that care
are shunned
as our home crumbles away

when it does
they say we will move on
spread
multiply
and start again

just as any other parasite
our host suffers
so we can thrive

I am a enviromentalist, and this poem is showing my concern.
the "blood" represents oil,the veins are rivers, and the earths children represent animals and plants.I hope you can relate to this poem.
