The Waves
The waves are crashing,
Hungry, destructive, devouring,
They sound like thunder,
Holding me under.
I try to scream,
Nothing, so it seems,
Only a loss of air,
But I don’t care
Ive got plenty to spare
Eventually ill make my way back up,
Struggle and fight the current of pressure.
But oh ocean why wont you let me breathe?
Eventually my lungs begin to seethe.
I push off the bottom,
Its deeper than I could ever fathom,
But I fight my way up,
my body threatens to rupture.
I make it thrashing,
But not for long cause
The waves are crashing.
