Ode to Cleo
Slowly walking down the hall
Fuzzy and intelligent with eyes like marbles
Cleo approaches
She jumps onto the couch and sits
Looking at me like she wants to ask about my day
I tell her there has never been a cat like her
She falls asleep
Her head resting on her snow white paws
Purring like a lawnmower
In a few hours she will be running around again
Playing, busy as a bee
I will brush her fur and pet her face
And tell her there has never been a cat like her
