Ev’ryday I see
In hands of devastation;
Your beauty wasting

Remains of our past
Carelessness paints your canvas
Hate tainting your love

Your fields of heaven;
Now perishing with our pride
Vanity killing…

Running out of time
Clash like fire and water--
Our mother, fading.

The author's comments:
I was inspired to write about people as a whole and their affect on the earth. I am very conscious of what is happening and my wish is to expose others to it as well.
