End to Enlightenment

Our faculty is rotting
black moldy decay
rotten sunken ceilings
our enlightenment ends today
we are carelessly choking
on this stinking air
we won't escape this dreary place
I mournfully declare
memories are gasping
and gagging for good measure
as they're cast down under
like long forsaken treasure
Luckily we will suffocate
before we've the chance to drown
in the slowly rising water
in this good-for-nothing town
