In a Trance

July 11, 2008

We walk along the ocean shore
Our feet gently graze the sand
Peering at the crimson sun
We're strutting hand-in-hand
Though there's many words unspoken
We have a fire of passion burning
Staring in your ablazing eyes
The emerald depths alluring
We watch the sun as it disappears
And as the stars come out from hiding
The moon peeks over the turquiose water
Trees swaying in the breeze, sighing
Water rushes to us in waves
Like our lustful and deadly romance
We slow to a stop, an unbreakable bond
The wind whistles, ending our trance.

I actually wrote this on the 4th of July, after dinner. I don't really know what inspired me to write 'In a Trance.' It just sort of started growing in my mind before becoming a complete poem.
