I Hear Them
When you’re alone do you think of me?
Of my shiny wings, flying over the sea.
You flew away, please don’t forget,
I’ve said so many things that I regret
So I fly back, and you’re not there
I still feel the touch, of your soft hair.
I wish that I could never leave
But it’s inevitable, all of these things.
I wish that I could say so much
And be able to feel your warm touch.
I know I can’t but I can dream,
And I still do, I dream of you.
I dream of us, walking together.
I dream of you tucking me in and kissing me goodnight.
I dream of you, turning off my night-light, and at the door, whispering, “I love you, goodnight.”
I hope you can hear me down here from where you are.
I know it’s far away, but I still say, “I love you,” every night.
I hope you know I do.
I’m sorry if it’s hard to hear me,
But God really did need you…
