I Hate It

I hate it when you see me,
I hate it when you’re there,
I hate it how you always, always say you care.

I hate it that I’m wrong,
I hate it that you’re right,
I hate it that we argue, and that we always fight.

I hate it that you laughed with me,
I hate it you were friends with me,
I hate it that you noticed me, and that you cared for me.

I hate it that you know me,
I hate it that I don’t,
I hate it that they hurt me, and that you say you won’t.

I hate it that you like me,
I hate it that you shouldn’t,
I hate it that I wish you would, and that I wish you wouldn’t.

I hated it when you forgave me,
I hate it that now you can’t,
I hate it that I’m sorry, and that I’m scared to say it.

The author's comments:
I wrote this about a friend of mine after a fight, it's hard for me to say I'm sorry and admit I'm wrong. I hope that through reading this people will know that sometimes admitting you're wrong and apologizing is the only thing that will keep sane.
