The Never Imaginable
I’ll always remember the day we met
In the sunny school yard
On the black cement
Three years later, we’re at our peak
Laughing and talking
Without repeat
Fast forward a year and demolition is storing up
All of the anger and fear
That has made us fed-up
You have changed and so have I
Which brings out our greatest emotions
That have been hidden inside
I think we both knew this time was coming
Though we will never admit it to ourselves
Where the laughs and love have stopped running
But then my heart skips a beat
and I know we will both survive
Even when our friendship is obsolete
Because it allowed us both to thrive
In the ways never imaginable
By bringing out the best and making the other strive
So I thank you from the heart
For the love, care, and attention given
That gave me a much needed kick-start
