Double
I have two mothers
but not like anyone
who has two mothers
who live with them
and brag about
how much
they look like one
and how they act
like the other.
I have two mothers
but, I only
know the second.
It hurts to know
my first mother
loved me so much
she gave me away.
I wonder if it
bothers her, my mom,
the one that took
me in, that I
don't look like her.
I wonder if she
ever worries that
my other mother
will ever want
me back. I wonder
if my real mother
ever thinks of me.
I hope no one ever
loves me as much
What kind of love is that?
