The blast of thunder
the flash of light
all around me
the haze of fight
We push forward
gaining ground
and from afar
the war-pipes sound
Wavering notes
a wordless tune
digs deep to my soul
and seals their doom
The enemy falters
cohesion lost
they turn and run
'cross fields of frost
Mine shield and sword fall
bloodied and bashed
you fought well he said
a force unmatched
My vision fades
slowly to black
the soil rushes to meet me
the earth, eager to welcome me back
