Cries of a Sister
As you lay your head to sleep,
Sleep, burying yourself, deeper and deeper beneath;
Beneath your covers you hear the screams and weeps with music, your savoir.
Savior, music? Turned up, headphones on, sleep;
Sleep, you hear her coming;
Coming, Tiptoeing, sleep;
Sleep, she’s tiptoeing don’t worry they wont hear her, too loud;
Too loud. You move over and over, making room for her, sleep;
Sleep, as you shush her cries, “Mommy and Daddy…”;
“Mommy and Daddy…:” you know what’s coming and hold her hand,
Letting your little sister know you understand.
