Last night I dreamed of indigo
That deepest darkest blue
None of the weak insipidness
Of other paler hues
Strange dark lonely blue
Center of my dreams
The color of my world
All my hopes and seems
Lonely dark blue
The color of my veins
Streaming through my body
Filling me with pain
Oh to dream of pink, purple or green
Those lively happy colors
Of sunshine of earth and flower
Of laughter and joy and all these others
But no I dream of indigo
That lonely darkest blue
None of the joy and happiness
Of other paler hues
