If you were Apollo
Then I would follow,
You along the misty shore.
We’d spread our roots
Beneath the shallows,
Until we reached the ocean floor.
We’d dance and sing
Within the grotto,
A day befit of sailor’s lore.
When getting lost
Is but a motto,
You needs an anchor to be a bore?
We’d sit alone,
Inside a hollow,
And let rest pass over as it had before.
If you were Apollo,
Then none should follow,
And I would have just you to adore.
