Waiting
They say the heart is a fragile thing,
But when it finds love, all it does is sing.
I’ve never believed this unlikely tale,
I am old fashioned, like sending letters in the mail.
I vowed I would wait,
Until that long away date.
I know what I must go through,
The jerks I’ll probably pursue.
In the organ called my heart,
I know I can’t wait to start getting to know you.
I wonder where you are,
But you are like a star…
I must wait many days,
Before I know whose gaze, takes my breath away.
All I can say now is, wait for me,
Keep your faith as stable as a tree.
I will find you, and I cannot wait,
Until that very special date.
