Favorite Quote:
"I dream a world where man
No other man will scorn,
Where love will bless the earth
And peace its paths adorn.
I dream a world where all
Will know sweet freedom's way..." - Langston Hughes

In the eyes of youth, you can do a lot,
but when you enter adolescence they put you on the spot.
No longer are dreams real,
when you're older you must worry about paying for a meal.

But I knew, since I was thought to be wise,
the world was in for a big surprise.
Here she comes! Everyone would look!
When in reality, I'll spend the rest of my life reading in a nook.

The American dream is what we all shoot for,
but when you get there, all you'll want is more...

No longer do I believe I will be in the light,
but what does it hurt to dream about it at night?

I was inspired to write this poem while lying on my couch, thinking about my future life and the stress it causes for me. This is not meant to be a depressing or sad poem, but one that will leave the reader thinking.
