Disturbed

April 8, 2008
By Alyson Miller, Kernersville, NC

Head spinning like a merry go round
Words ignite in my skull.
Twisting and coiling my usual emotion
Making me quiver in fear.

An invasion occurs-
They overthrow my thoughts- ransacking my brain
These new thoughts are not mine,
Only loaned to me for the role switch.

Person by day, Demon by night
Struck by the darkness,
That courses through my hollow veins.
Trying to burst from my lifeless flesh.

I try to subdue this unperceivable force,
But cannot contain it for long,
Because I am fighting a battle within me.

One I have yet to triumph.
