Misunderstood Girls

Her voice is small, soft and beautiful,
Her disposition, pure and innocent.
From the outer appearance it seemed,
That nothing in her image was bent.

She looked reserved, wary, and lost.
Most thought of her as a small mouse,
Too self-conscious to make a move,
But things changed when she got to her house.

For although on the outside she was shy and vulnerable,
She really wanted to be daring and bold.
Unfortunately, she just did not quite know how,
To show everyone that she was not really gold.

For her style was not pick and girly,
You could almost say it was the opposite.
There was a different spirit that was lurking within,
A smoldering fire, that has yet to be lit.

But she lived her life, insignificant to most,
While those who actually knew her, saw that she
Was fun and friendly with a teasing mind.
And there is a chance that that girl might be me.
