A Whisper in My Ear

April 8, 2008
By Jeffrey Cosgrove, Boxford, MA

A whisper in my ear
As cold as old man winter
As wretched as hell
As heavy as a lie
As deep as darkness itself
Murmurs “Goodbye”
As I drift
Into darkness
And suddenly, the light, peaks through
And I move on.
