The Spiritual Drive

The spiritual drive you kept within you
The dream that you fought for
Tears of joy ran through the Negro Community
While the White community watched
As Negros took the south as their stage
A leader was born
We looked up to him for direction
He had more mug shots than Bobby Brown and O.J. combined
But we still believed in his cause
He led many peaceful marches and boycotts
Including the Montgomery Bus Boycott in 1955
This stated that if you mess with one Negro the others will stand up for that cause
April 4th, 1968 6:01pm
BANG!!!
Our leader was shoot on the second floor balcony of room 306 at the Lorraine Motel
"Ben, make sure you play "Take My Hand, Precious Lord' in the meeting tonight. Play it real pretty" became his last words
7:05pm pronounced dead at St. Joseph's hospital
I have a dream... that one day MLK's true dream will come true
