Love Poem

March 10, 2008

My eyes draw secrets
from the depths of your soul.
You glimpse my essence
I hide inside. It may fool you,
but you may want
your secrets known.

So, you send you heart
upon a platter of gold
and pray that I accept it
without devouring it as
a wolf engulfs her prey.

Dearest, may you know,
my reply to your gift,
your heart, you cut out.
I send you my heart
encased in gold,
laying next to yours.
