A Sledding Tale
One winter’s evening, when the cold wind blew,
little Sarah was sledding, and her sister too.
The snow was thick, all drifting and white,
and the wind howling, with a freezing bite.
But Sarah didn’t care, nor did her sister,
for they were bundled and warm, for them not a care.
They skidded down hills, then they marched back up,
then they zoomed once again, with a ZAM and a ZUP.
Sometimes they’d skid, & sometimes they’d skate,
as when going down hills, it was hard to contemplate.
But what fun it was, to sled under the moon,
pretending the snow were all sand dunes.
Their parents watched, both smiling with pride,
Mom proud of her kids, Dad proud of his bride.
They enjoyed watching their kids sled back and forth,
and the kids, the hot chocolate that they would bring fourth.
The snow continued to fall, all freezing and pale,
but it still brought them magic, as in all winter tales.
