Redemption

Flaws and fearfulness often distort reality.
Insecurities direct the paths that are chosen.
The pensive eyes are full of despair
and often hide tears.
Scared of forever being stuck on
the gloomy lonesome road,
a brittle mask covers her face
to blot out her true emotions.
Yet, a distant heart manages to etch a smile
into her pallid face and dry lips.
He calls for redemption.
He removes the mask.
He slowly gives shine to her lackluster eyes,
restoring life within her,
which she thought,
was lost forever.
