My Favorite Tree
Pink and beautiful,
Cherry blossoms are.
In bunches,
Or falling to the ground.
Shade is shade
But when it’s under a cherry tree,
It seems different;
Like warm darkness,
Yet cooler,
If there is such thing.
I wouldn’t mind so much,
If I had no diamonds,
No sapphires,
No pearls.
If only I had a cherry tree,
It would seem I could do anything,
Write anything,
Paint anything.
In the warm darkness,
Or the blossom covered ground.
Or sitting on the branch
Of my cherry tree.
