Some things are beautiful
Wondrous and bright
You then think to yourself
What a beautiful life

So as you sit there
Staring at that flower
Listen to me
And heed my advice
Every rose
Has its bite

For if you let it
Feed on your pain
It will tempt you
Back for more
So if you wish
Not to get hurt
Then stay away
From that rose

The rose, so delightful
My advice, so spiteful
I know you will
Chase that rose
But once you get hurt
Don't be surprised

It all ended up
With your blood spilling
The flower celebrating
As its thorns absorb
This new found substance
Its petals turn
A darker shade
As it lures you
Back for more
