the day i met a dinosaur
Just the other day I was walking down the street,
Not aware of who I might meet.
I was on my way to the shops, to but some milk,
When I crashed into something that felt like silk.
Ten foot high, was this thing,
And as it saw me it started to sing.
A foreign language it muttered to me.
As I looked up I thought it might be,
A dinosaur singing to me.
I wasn't scared, not at all,
Because in his mouth he held a ball.
He bent down revealing his jaw,
That when I got scared of what I saw.
Five rows of stained yellow teeth,
Kind of reminded me of my friend Kieth.
He dropped the ball in front of me,
And as I looked up I thought it might be,
A dinosaur wanting to play with me.
His silky skin, red with excitement,
Bounced up and down, as my hand tightened ,
Around the ball between his claws.
I'm not sure that if he had paws.
I lifted my hand and threw his toy,
He ran as fast as a boy,
Straight into a lamp post in front of me.
As I looked up, I thought it might be,
A dead dinosaur in front of me.
As I turned away I had an idea,
My house was very near.
I could take him home, for my mum,
And later he could be in my tum.
I would take him home and cook him whole,
Although he might not fit in my bowl.
My mum would be very proud of me.
And as I looked up, I thought it might be,
A yummy dinosaur in front of me.
