Are appearances so important
That everything else falls flat?
Does nothing else matter
But whether you're skinny or fat?

Listen to what I say
So you can hear the truth and decide
That any girl can be pretty
But true beauty comes from inside

And true ugliness is not a matter of the face
But of the heart and soul
For if you are bitter and proud
You will never be completely whole

And no matter how hard you try
Makeup will not cover these stains
And they cannot be washed away
No matter how much it rains

So you can call yourself repulsive
Or an undesirable cow
But if someone has a distasteful soul
Who is the truly ugly one now?

The author's comments:
I know it's about the corny 'beauty comes from within' but it is so true and a lot of people seem to forget that.
