A darkness
Veiling me from you
Within arms reach
Yet so far away
The distance growing

An inch away
Yet miles to run
Such you are fading
Leaving me here
To wonder in silence
In a crowd of people

I am alone
Islands away
All the voices shouting
Yet all I hear
Are a thousand hushed whispers
Telling me to run

All the signs around me
Screaming at danger
And yet I stand
Blissfully unaware

I am alone
Yet too far away
For cries to be heard

Basked in light
Yet surrounded in shadow
Eyes wide open
Yet blind to the world

My grip was firm
But it's coming loose
In the pressure to be
What they say I am

I'm letting go
I'm falling
